Thinking Process

All new ideas are fueled by passion and a clear understanding of user’s needs and emotions. Design these days needs to help people to better communicate, to make technology easy to understand and to improve our lives by making them more secure, reliable and comfortable.

But what about the design process?

Design process - Step 1

1. New ideas are explored in the form of 2D handmade sketches as this allows providing and exploring as many as possible different design alternatives in a quick way.

  1. HP 500 sheet stapler stacker
  2. Baby bathtub
  3. HP multi bin mailbox
  4. Baby bottle
  5. Baby monitor
  6. Dog house
  7. Electronic device
  8. Low cost computer

Design process - Step 2

2. Once a design style has been decided by the customer, it can be refined in order to conclude important design elements such as locations for buttons, ventilation slots, partition lines for different covers, color study and graphic applications among other design details.

  1. Handmade sketches (design explorations)
  2. Handmade sketches (design explorations)
  3. Handmade sketches (design explorations)
  4. Handmade sketches (design explorations)
  5. Chosen by the customer design concept
  6. Final design configuration for the product

Design process - Step 3

3. Once the conceptual stage has been concluded, the design evolves to an engineering stage where 3D CAD models are created.

  1. 3D file to verify  form and function on a smart phone
  2. Color scheme proposals for a baby bottle
  3. 3D file on HP Digital Copier
  4. 3D file to validate dimensions and create rapid prototypes
  5. 3D file to verify location of electronic components
  6. 3D file for a powder dispenser
  7. 3D file for an electronic device

Design process - Step 4

4. These files can be used for a variety of purposes including the consecution of functional prototypes (RPs) to validate the proper form and fit as well the functionality of the new product.

Prototypes allow to perform usability, marketing and engineering testing on different aspects of the product so once they are approved, the new design is ready to be manufactured.

  1. Mock up for HP LSJ System 4345 mfp
  2. Rapid prototype for HP stapler stacker for LSJ 4345 mfp
  3. Mock up for 3000 sheet stapler stacker for LSJ 9000 series
  4. Plastic prototyped covers for HP Digital Copier 9085 mfp
  5. Rapid prototype for medical ray gun
